Very High Waves With Long Overhanging Crests.  Foam is in great patches and is blown in dense white streaks along the direction of the wind.  The surface of the sea takes on a white appearance.  The rolling of the sea becomes heavy and shock-like.  Visibility Is Affected. 10 WHOLE GALE 48 48 44-59
Exceptional High Waves.  The sea is completely covered with long white patches of foam along the direction of the wind. Everywhere the edges of the waves crests are blown into froth.  Visibility Seriously Affected 11 STORM 56-63 56-63 64-73
