Premium Dry
Teflon Lube
Dry Lubes are those that
use a fluid to be applied, providing a self penetrating
effect, that flows over surfaces and between parts.
The fluid then evaporates leaving the lube to do its job!
Finish Line Dry Teflon Lube was the first lube of this type;
giving birth to a new lubrication technology.
It has become the best-selling dry-lube in the US bicycle
world.
Advantage: A Dry-Lube does not attract dirt to the
drive train components! Ride through dusty,
dirty conditions and the drive train will not turn into a
destructive abrasive grinding paste between moving parts!
Disadvantage:
Low Water Resistance, Eroding Off Quickly In Rainy, Or Water
Submersion Conditions.
TIP: The night before
a
ride, apply dry lube and allow it to fully flow out and
penetrate parts over a longer period of time before riding.
TIP: Pack A Small Can On The
Bike During Cross Country, Touring, Trail Rides, Beach
Rides, Anytime Water Submersion Is Expected Or Possible ---
rain, streams, beaches, puddles, etc..
Extreme Premium Wet Lube
Wet
Lube is a oily compound that is applied wet and stays
wet through its service life. Finish Lines Wet
Lubricant features excellent water resistance, film
strength and long-lasting performance. Finish
Line?s Wet Lubricant is regarded by many to be the best of
the Wet Lubes.
Advantages: Excellent Water Resistance, Film Strength
- A Wet
Lube will perform better in muddy, off-road conditions, do
to its high resistance to water; floating-off mud and crud.
Disadvantage:
Dry Dirt And Dust Mix And Is Held In Lube;
Requiring Lube Changing.
TIP:
When planning to ride in dry, dusty conditions,
always wipe down the outside of the chain, removing any
excess lube to minimize the accumulation of dirt in the
drive train.
Premium
Dry Wax Lube
Wax
Lubes are great for those who avoid cleaning their chains.
Finish Line?s Wax lubricant is so dry, that when a pant leg
rubs against it, it will not leave a stain. When used
properly, cleaning the chain will become a rare event.
The key
is frequent application. Each Wax Lube application
actually cleans, flushes, and re-lubes the chain and drive
chain. The lube goes on wet, but dries to a dry, hard
wax. Dirt, dust and grime will not stick to a wax
lube. Contaminants that settle on the chain, are shed
by the natural flaking action of the Wax Lube, or are easily
flushed off during the next lube application.
Wax
lubes have two disadvantages: first, Wax lubes require
frequent application, every 50 to 150 miles depending upon
conditions. Second, they do not last long in rain, wet
muddy conditions or through frequent deep stream crossings.
TIP: The night before the
ride, apply dry lube and allow to fully set-up and dry.
TIP: Pack A Small Container
On Every Ride. A Small Saddle Bag, Or Frame Bag Is
Perfect To Hold The Lube Along With Other Riding Essentials
--- Bike Lock And Cable; Keys; Wallet.
